If you live around the Williamsburg area, you’ve probably noticed that it feels like something new is opening every time you turn around. A new restaurant here, a shop there, or a familiar building getting a completely different look (like the Old Au Bon Pain building transforming into a new dentist location.)
I’m Nathan, and together with my business partner Zach, we run The Early Burg. We’re locals who live here, spend our weekends here, eat at these restaurants, shop at these businesses and, through The Early Burg, spend a lot of our time talking with the people behind them. We’ve gotten to know many of these owners, filmed videos with some of them, and followed along as their ideas turned into actual storefronts.
So I wanted to put together a list of the new businesses opening in Williamsburg in 2026 that we’re actually excited about. These aren’t businesses we pulled from some generic roundup or press release. They’re places we’ve seen, visited, talked about and watched become part of the community.
And while Williamsburg gets plenty of attention from visitors , especially with Colonial Williamsburg & Busch Gardens bringing people into town, this list is written from a local’s perspective. These are the new spots we think residents will want to know about, whether you’re looking for somewhere new to eat, a local shop to check out, or just wondering what’s happening in that building that’s been empty for six months.
Some have already opened their doors. Others are coming soon.

1. Point 5 in Williamsburg: A Different Kind of Bottle Shop
One of our favorite things about Point 5 is that it feels like owner Charlotte McDonald’s personality is built right into the business. We’ve met Charlotte several times now, and she’s genuinely one of those people who makes you feel welcome the second you walk in.
Point 5 opened February 6, 2026, at Williamsburg Premium Outlets as Williamsburg’s first non-alcoholic bottle shop. It carries non-alcoholic beer, wine and spirits, plus canned mocktails, mixers and functional beverages for anyone who’s sober, sober-curious, cutting back, a designated driver, or just curious. You can taste products before you buy, get personalized recommendations from Charlotte’s team, or grab a drink and hang out. Point 5 was also recently named a finalist for the Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce’s Early-Stage Business of the Year — impressive for a shop that had only been open a few months.

2. Ray Ray’s Plants: More Than Just a Plant Shop
Ray Ray’s Plants is one of those new Williamsburg businesses that feels like it was made for the community. Owner Rachel Neighbors originally sold plants, stickers and her own creations at weekend markets before taking the leap and opening Williamsburg’s first dedicated houseplant store in Midtown Row. When she found out she was expecting twins, she realized the market schedule wasn’t sustainable — which pushed her toward a permanent home for Ray Ray’s.
Today you’ll find a curated selection of houseplants, thrifted pots and planters given a second life, plant-care supplies, and even a soil bar. Ray Ray’s also hosts workshops and events, making it as much a place to learn and meet other plant lovers as it is a place to shop. We featured Ray Ray’s in one of our recent Early Burg giveaways, and it’s easy to see why this little shop has become such a fun addition to Midtown Row.

3. Pie & Dine: From the Farmers Market to a Restaurant
If you’ve been to the Williamsburg Farmers Market, there’s a good chance you already know Pie & Dine. The family behind it spent years building a following there before opening their first brick-and-mortar location at 7103 Pocahontas Trail in 2026.
Run by husband-and-wife team Volkan and Sevinc Danis, Pie & Dine serves a little bit of everything — freshly made dessert pies, savory pot pies, pizza, sandwiches and Mediterranean specialties. Everything is made from scratch, with fresh ingredients and family members helping run the restaurant. Our advice? Don’t skip the pie. 🥧

4. Hot Topic | Making a Comeback?
We’ll be honest, we didn’t realize Hot Topic was still around, but here we are. The once (and still) popular pop-culture and alternative-fashion retailer is coming to Williamsburg Premium Outlets in late August 2026, with an opening date of August 28. According to the outlet’s own store directory, it’ll be located two doors down from Nike.

5. Ricky’s Wine Bar: A Little Taste of Europe in Williamsburg
Ricky’s Wine Bar & Restaurant is bringing a European-inspired wine bar experience to downtown Williamsburg. Located on Prince George Street, the restaurant is built around the Italian tradition of aperitivo, good wine, cocktails, shareable food and plenty of conversation.
Chef and owner Riccardo “Ricky” Rinaldi brings more than two decades of Italian and fine-dining experience, including time at several Michelin-starred restaurants. He and his wife and business partner, Amber, relocated to Williamsburg in 2024 and spent two years building relationships with local farmers before opening. Today, Ricky’s serves seasonal small plates, pizza and other Italian-inspired dishes alongside a curated wine list featuring European and Virginia producers, plus a patio and occasional live music.

6. Don Chido: From Food Truck to Downtown Williamsburg
If you’ve followed the local food scene for a while, you may already know Don Chido. Chef and owner Abner Alva started the business as a food truck, building a following around Williamsburg and the 757 before opening his first brick-and-mortar restaurant on Prince George Street.
You’ll find the same bold flavors in a full-service restaurant serving tacos, tapas, paella and creative Latin/Korean dishes . Think Korean fried chicken tacos, carne asada, beef empanadas, street corn and even lobster fries. What we love about Don Chido is that it doesn’t feel like it’s trying to be another typical Mexican restaurant. Abner has taken the flavors and experience he built on the food truck and turned them into something uniquely his own.

7. BlitzMyBiz: Turning “Shop Local” Into Action
BlitzMyBiz is one of those ideas that makes you wonder why nobody thought of it sooner. Local couple Pete and Trisha Spadaro started the initiative after seeing too many local businesses struggle and close. Their solution: organize a “Blitz”…. a specific day and time when the community floods a local restaurant or shop with customers.
Businesses don’t pay to participate, and customers often get special deals for showing up. Since launching, BlitzMyBiz has organized events for businesses around Williamsburg, turning “support local” from something we say into something we actually do. It’s simple: pick a local business, show up, spend a little money, and help keep the lights on.

8. Geolo-Tea: A Cozy New Spot for Tea Lovers
If you’re looking for somewhere to grab a drink, get some work done, or just slow down for a bit, Geolo-Tea is a fun new addition to Williamsburg. Owner Xanadu Biondi, a 2025 William & Mary graduate who studied geology, opened the tea room in April 2026 and the name is a nod to her field of study.
Geolo-Tea specializes in loose-leaf teas, including several custom blends Xanadu creates herself, along with baked goods. There’s Wi-Fi, outlets and plenty of seating, making it a particularly nice alternative to a coffee shop for students, remote workers, or anyone looking for a quieter late-night hangout. You can actually smell the teas before choosing one, which makes the whole experience feel a little more like exploring than simply ordering a drink.

9. Mil Amores: A New Taqueria Near William & Mary
If you’re looking for affordable Mexican food near William & Mary, Mil Amores is a new spot worth knowing. The family-owned taqueria comes from the same owners behind Maria Bonita and was created as a more casual, approachable place for tacos, burritos, fajitas and other Mexican favorites.
The street tacos, birria, carne asada fries and margaritas are among the standouts, and there’s a full drink menu, family meals, Monday karaoke nights, and a relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to see why locals are already treating it as a neighborhood gathering spot.

10. Jellystone Park Williamsburg: Yogi Bear Comes to Town
If you’re looking for a new family getaway close to home, Jellystone Park Williamsburg is worth knowing about. The former Williamsburg Campground was acquired by Northgate Resorts and transformed into the area’s first Yogi Bear-themed Jellystone Park, opening in March 2026.
The family friendly camp/resort offers cabins, RV sites and camping, along with swimming pools, a splash pad, jumping pillows, playgrounds, laser tag, nature trails, disc golf and plenty of scheduled activities. And of course, kids can meet Yogi Bear, Cindy Bear and Boo Boo during their stay…a pretty big upgrade for the old campground.

11. Naz’s Halal: A New Late-Night Option in Williamsburg
Naz’s Halal brought something Williamsburg was missing: halal food that stays open extremely late. The Midtown Row restaurant is part of a growing chain that started as a food truck in Queens in 2009 and has since expanded to more than 40 locations. The Williamsburg location serves halal rice platters, gyros, chicken, lamb, falafel and other Mediterranean and Greek-inspired dishes.
One of the biggest draws is the hours. Naz’s is open until 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, giving Williamsburg another option when most kitchens have long since closed.

12. Voodoo Brewing: A New Hangout in Midtown Row
If you’re looking for a place to grab a beer, catch some live music or join a trivia night, Voodoo Brewing Co. has quickly become another option in Midtown Row. The Williamsburg location, owned by Michael and Penny Davis, opened in August 2025 and is the brand’s second Virginia location.
Michael spent 36 years in the trucking industry before deciding it was time for a change and opening a brewpub of his own. His goal was to create a place where Williamsburg residents and William & Mary students could come together, eat, drink and have some fun. The family-friendly spot serves craft beer, cocktails, wine and a full food menu, while regularly hosting live music, trivia, karaoke and open mic nights.

13. Grocery Outlet: A New Way to Save on Groceries in Williamsburg
If you miss the days of finding a great deal at Earth Fare, Grocery Outlet might become your new favorite place to browse. The discount grocer opened in the former Earth Fare space at Midtown Row in April 2026, bringing a different kind of grocery shopping to Williamsburg.
Grocery Outlet focuses on name brand, natural and organic foods at discounted prices, with the selection constantly changing based on what the company can source. The company says shoppers can save 40–70% compared with traditional grocery stores. It’s basically a treasure hunt for groceries. You might walk in looking for milk and eggs and walk out with something you didn’t even know you needed.

14. Nordstrom Rack: Williamsburg Is Getting a New Place to Spend Money You “Saved”
Williamsburg is getting its first Nordstrom Rack, and we have a feeling “I’m just going to look” is about to become a very dangerous phrase. The off-price retailer is coming to Settlers Market, with a 25,000-square-foot store offering clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty products and home goods, often up to 70% off Nordstrom prices. The store is officially slated to open October 22, 2026.
So yes, technically you’re saving money. Whether that means you’ll actually spend less is between you and your credit card. 😅

15. Greater Williamsburg Sports & Events Center: A Big New Addition to Williamsburg
This one isn’t exactly a “new business,” but it’s too big of a deal for Williamsburg to leave off this list. The Greater Williamsburg Sports & Events Center officially opened June 24, 2026, next to the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center, bringing a 200,000-square-foot indoor sports and events facility to the area.
The center has 12 basketball courts that convert into 24 volleyball courts or 36 pickleball courts, plus indoor turf, an adventure gym, meeting spaces, food and beverage options and room for everything from youth tournaments to trade shows. The goal isn’t just giving local kids somewhere to play, it’s bringing regional and national tournaments, and thousands of visitors, into Williamsburg. Expect to see a lot more out-of-town jerseys around town.

16. Day Or Night Exotic Cereal Bar: Cereal Just Got a Lot More Fun
Day Or Night Exotic Cereal Bar is bringing a pretty fun concept to Grafton Station in Yorktown — because apparently regular cereal wasn’t exciting enough. 😅 The dessert spot takes cereal way beyond a bowl with milk, serving over-the-top cereal bowls, milkshakes, parfaits, cereal Belgian waffles, cereal tacos and French toast sticks. The whole place has a playful, nostalgic feel that makes it especially fun for families, kids and anyone who still gets way too excited walking down the cereal aisle.
And yes, you can absolutely make a meal out of dessert here. We support that decision.

17. Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken: Bring on the Heat
Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken is one of the newer spots to hit Williamsburg, bringing Nashville-style hot chicken to town for anyone who likes their lunch with a little or a lot of heat. 🔥 The menu features crispy chicken sandwiches, tenders, wings, loaded fries and more, with heat levels ranging from No Heat all the way to Angry Hot (waiver required).
So whether you’re here for the flavor or determined to make a questionable spice-level decision, there’s something for you. Our advice: know your limits. “Angry Hot” is not a personality trait.

18. Direct Deals Outlet: A Treasure Hunt at Williamsburg Premium Outlets
Direct Deals Outlet is one of the newer additions to Williamsburg Premium Outlets, and it’s the kind of store where you probably shouldn’t walk in with a shopping list , think treasure hunt instead. The store carries a constantly changing mix of tools, electronics, home goods, appliances and other discounted products, so what you find can vary from one visit to the next. You might walk in looking for a drill and somehow leave with a kitchen gadget you didn’t know you needed.

19. M.A.R.T.Y.: Axe Republic Takes the Show on the Road
What if your next party came with its own mobile axe-throwing range? That’s exactly what Lydia and Matthew Murnion created with M.A.R.T.Y. (Mobile Axe Range & Throwing Yard), bringing the Axe Republic experience directly to festivals, weddings, fundraisers, corporate events and backyard parties.
We’ve worked with the Murnions several times through giveaways and other projects, and we’re big fans of what they’re doing in the Williamsburg community. They’re the kind of local business owners who are constantly coming up with new ways to bring people together and M.A.R.T.Y. is a pretty perfect example. The mobile unit brings axe throwing right to your event, with trained “Axeperts” handling the safety briefing and coaching. You can even add throwing knives, stars and spears if you’re feeling adventurous.

20. Perfume Palace: Designer Fragrances at Williamsburg Premium Outlets
Perfume Palace is one of the newest additions to Williamsburg Premium Outlets, giving shoppers another reason to stop by the outlet mall. The store specializes in designer fragrances for men and women, with a wide selection of perfumes and colognes from popular brands a convenient spot if you’re shopping for a gift, or if you’re the type of person who likes to smell 47 different fragrances before deciding on one. 😅
