VDOT Adds Flashing Yellow Signals at Williamsburg & York Co. Intersections🚦🚦
On Tuesday, Jan. 21, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) implemented a flashing yellow light arrow traffic signal at intersections in Williamsburg and York County. Read more here

Tax Increase Proposed for Hampton Roads to Help Fund Roadway Improvements 🛣️💵
More than a decade after lawmakers increased the sales tax on Hampton Roads to fund improvements to the region’s highways, there is a push to raise the tax rate again to better address major roadways around those interstates as well as roads at risk of flooding. Read more here

No Kid Hungry Virginia recently announced a $201,600 grant to go towards 10 Virginia school districts, including Virginia Beach and Williamsburg, to help expand school breakfast access throughout 2025. Read more here

Colonial Downs - Kentucky Derby Update 🏇🏇
Just a short drive from Williamsburg, Colonial Downs in New Kent recently unveiled a series of special ticket and experience packages for March 15’s Virginia Derby, which for the first time will serve as a Kentucky Derby qualifier race. Read more here

City of Williamsburg Planning Commission Recommends Approval for Conversion of Wells Fargo Building into Multi-Family Dwellings 🏘️
The City of Williamsburg Planning Commission recommended the approval of a special use permit to allow multifamily dwellings at the Wells Fargo Building at 1006 Richmond Road at its Jan. 15 meeting. Read more here

Local for-profit, Thread Local 360 partnered with local nonprofit Thread Local Charities to help them open their first storefront at Williamsburg Crossing Shopping Center in late December. Read more here
