Over 22 Crashes Reported as Winter Storm Kingston Sweeps Through 🌨️❄️
Winter Storm Kingston has caused hazardous road conditions, leading to over 22 crashes since yesterday morning, some resulting in injuries. Authorities urge residents to avoid travel as roads remain snow-covered and icy, with plow trucks actively working. More information 

Williamsburg Approves Richmond Road Apartments in Former Bank Building 🏘️🏘️
Williamsburg City Council approved a special use permit allowing 11 apartments in the former Wells Fargo building at 1006 Richmond Road, increasing the density from eight to 14 units per acre. The project, proposed by Demetrios Florakis, will feature studio and one-bedroom apartments on the upper floors, while the first floor will be reserved for commercial use, including restaurants and outdoor patios. WJCC School Board Moves Forward with Potential Middle School Name Change 🏘️
The Williamsburg-James City County School Board voted to establish a committee to explore renaming James Blair Middle School, citing concerns over Blair’s history as an enslaver and his role in promoting slavery. The committee, consisting of students, staff, and community members, will gather input, conduct a survey in late March, and present a recommendation, with a final decision expected before the school year begins in August. Williamsburg Book Festival Celebrates 10th year 📖📖
The Williamsburg Book Festival returns this Saturday for its 10th year, featuring 50 authors, five publishers, and a lineup of guest speakers and a poetry panel at the Williamsburg Community Building and Stryker Center. The free event offers book signings, discussions, and presentations from authors like Tj O’Connor, Juanita Graham, and Russell W. Glenn, with an expected attendance of over 600 people. Dolly Parton Imagination Library Arrives in Greater Williamsburg 📖📖
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library has expanded to the Greater Williamsburg area, officially launching on February 15, 2025. This initiative, led by The DeGood Foundation, aims to provide free, high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth until their fifth birthday, fostering a love of reading and learning. The expansion was made possible through partnerships with the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg, Sentara Health, and the Williamsburg Community Foundation. A ribbon-cutting event was held at Frothy Moon Brewhouse to commemorate the launch. Families residing in the City of Williamsburg and James City County can enroll their children in the program by visiting The DeGood Foundation's website. More information
