POLICE ALERT: Police Seeking Information to Locate Fugitive with Twenty Outstanding Warrants ‼️🚓👮🏽
22-year-old male believed to reside and travel within the Greater Williamsburg area wanted on twenty outstanding warrants for both misdemeanor and felony offenses. These charges include abduction, assault and battery against a family member, strangulation, child abuse, and other violent crimes. Police are urging the public to exercise caution as suspect should be considered armed and dangerous. Contact law enforcement immediately if suspect is seen. More information & photo here

Colonial Parkway Rehabilitation to Close Parkway Between Penniman Road & Williamsburg Circle
The Colonial Parkway from Penniman Road to the Williamsburg Circle will be closed starting Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025. Additional details regarding detours and phases of rehab project can be found here: Read more

New Archaeology Project Begins at Colonial Williamsburg’s Peter Scott Site
What was old is new again as Colonial Williamsburg archaeologists return to a site last excavated in the 1950s in search of answers to unsolved mysteries. Beginning this week, visitors to Colonial Williamsburg will have the opportunity to engage with the excavation of the Peter Scott site, located across from Bruton Parish Church on the site formerly occupied by the colonial nursery and demonstration garden. Scott was a furniture maker who lived and operated his business on the site for over 40 years. The excavation, which is expected to last a minimum of 12 months, will ultimately inform the planned reconstruction of Scott’s house and associated outbuildings and contribute to the overall interpretation of the site. Read more here

Local School District Lets Potential Bus Drivers Take a Test Drive 🚌🚌
Ever wonder what it would be like to drive a school bus? Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools is offering potential applicants a chance to get behind the wheel. The school division is currently short 34 drivers and wanted to offer the opportunity for people who might be interested, but hesitant to try it.The school division will pay for you to get your CDL license. Starting pay is $20.26 an hour, there’s a sign-on bonus and parents can bring their kids over age two to work with them. Read more here

Longtime Williamsburg Antique Store Prepares to Close 👴🏻👵🏻

JCCPD Offering Free Firearms Safety Classes in 2025 🔫🔫
The James City County Police Department offers the public free one-session Firearms Safety Classes. Open to all ages, these classes will cover essential topics such as firearm safety, handling, storage, and the laws regarding carrying a concealed handgun in Virginia. Please note that this course does not include hands-on training, and participants are advised to leave all personal firearms securely stored at home. Read more here

Career Expo: Explore a Career in Law Enforcement 🚔👮🏻‍♀️
Attendees will have the chance to engage with officers from various teams, including Traffic and Highway Safety, Underwater Search and Recovery, Specialized Response, Drone Team, K-9, Criminal Investigations, Marine Patrol, Community Service and School Resource Unit, and Crisis Negotiations. Department Recruiters will be available to discuss career paths, hiring processes, and benefits, and applicants are encouraged to bring their resumes for potential on-the-spot interviews.
