The Early Burg continues to grow, adding 1,217 new subscribers this week on top of the thousands already staying informed about local events, live music, and more! James City County Proposes $389.5M Budget 💰💰
James City County Administrator Scott Stevens has proposed a $389.5 million budget for FY2026 with no tax increases but higher fees for parks and ambulance services. The budget includes a 3% pay raise for county employees, increased funding for schools and debt service, and addresses rising costs while leaving $11.4 million in requests unfunded. More Info

Several new businesses, including restaurants, a pickleball club, and a Publix, are opening across Hampton Roads, while multiple establishments, such as bars and fitness centers, have recently closed. More Info
