Incumbents Pat Dent and Barbara Ramsey retained their seats on the Williamsburg City Council, joined by William & Mary junior Ayanna Williams, who secured 23% of the vote. Colonial Williamsburg Celebrates Veterans Day with Free Admission and Special Events for Military Families 🪖🇺🇲

William and Mary announce inaugural dean of new computing, data sciences school 👨‍🎓👨‍🎓
William & Mary has appointed alumnus and computer scientist Douglas “Doug” Schmidt as the inaugural dean of its new School of Computing, Data Sciences and Physics, set to open in fall 2025. "Home for the Holidays" Campaign Raises Funds to Send Local Service Members Home 🇺🇲🪖
The "Home for the Holidays" campaign, now in its fourth year, helps junior-ranked service members from the Yorktown Coast Guard and Naval Weapons Station afford holiday travel. The Greater Williamsburg Chamber of Commerce's Military Affairs Committee seeks donations through November 29 to provide stipends for service members, with $300 funding one trip. Read the article 

Historic Triangle Leaf Collection Schedules Announced for 2024-2025 Season 🍂
Local municipalities in the Historic Triangle have announced their leaf collection schedules for residents. Williamsburg offers free collection on alternating weeks through January, James City County provides curbside pickup and self-hauling at a convenience center, York County has a bi-weekly collection schedule for residents in specific zones, and Poquoson runs bi-weekly collection through February, with clear bag requirements in all areas.
